Matthys was founded over a 100 years ago as a smithy for agricultural industry.

In 1983 Matthys nv started building creels and accessories for the tufting industry. Until today we are still a leading company in this speciality.

Since 1986 Matthys nv continued growing as we specialized ourselves into the design, construction and starting-up of machines for the textile industry such as inspection tables, rolling up units and compensators for fabrics.

By diversification, more than 20% of our turnover is realized outside the textile industry.

Matthys nv is a modern and efficient plant with a workshop of 15.000 square meters.

In 2003 we have founded the Matthys Group together with Evilo.
